  1. I woke up to see a strangely familiar sight: my childhood bedroom, with sunlight streaming in through the window. This was strange, because we’d left Earth ten years ago.

I throw my old blue blanket off me and sit on the bed. I look around with my mouth open wide in shock. My room is the same as I left it. The walls covered with my baby-ish drawings of my family. My family. My green alien family which was kicked out of Spaghettiola for illegally exporting Spaghetti from Spaghettiola to Earth. The Earthlings loved Spaghetti though and they struck up a deal with people from my planet and then we were allowed to go back to Spaghettiola or ‘Spaghetti land’. How come I’m back on this Blue and Green planet again?

I look at the round disk with moving needles and check what Earthlings call ‘time.’ It is 7 am. I get up and touch everything in the room. Even the ceiling (we have stretchy legs). Everything feels different yet so much the same. And then I see something.

There is a letter on my wooden desk. I raise my left eyebrow and tilt my neck to the other side. Strange, I think. Who would send me a letter and how did it come up in my room? More importantly, how did I get in my room? My old room. Which I bid farewell to 10 years ago.

I bring the letter to my bed and tear the envelope open. I don’t bother to see where it’s from. After the inhabitants of my planet started selling Spaghetti to Earth, English was a compulsory subject in all schools. My English is very good and it’s easy for me to read all letters that are translated from Spaghetti language to the English language when they are mailed down to Earth.

I start reading the letter. My eyes grow bigger and bigger and bigger. I gasp. My parents are sending me to college here! I’m going to study on Earth!
